During 2019 our brand Velia Sierra Design was more active than ever, showcasing on two of the most prestigious international platforms in the field of fashion resort: DC Swim Week + Miami SwimShow.
Miami SwimShow: a milestone that has defined the course of fashion resort
From July 14 to 17, at Velia Sierra Design we had the satisfaction of successfully participating in our first exhibition at the Miami SwimShow 2019 edition, held in Miami Beach, the world capital of beach fashion.
Miami Swim Show is the beach wear largest tradeshow worldwide. It represents one of the most important beach fashion events in the United States East coast because the best swimwear for women, men and children are exhibited there; plus clothing collections resort, beach wear, lifestyle, yoga and accessories. Some of the big name in the industry that can be found there are Tommy Bahama, Zadig & Voltaire and Jon Sonen.
It is an unmissable annual show for resort fashion houses where one can build relationships with other designers, learn about the latest trends, and meet end buyers face to face; Furthermore, it is recognized as the launching pad for many of the leading lines in this field.
During the 2019 edition we witnessed the visit of exhibitors and buyers from all over the world; In total, more than 2,500 lines were selected and more than 3,000 buyers from sixty countries were received. On this occasion, Velia Sierra Design shared space in The Collection area with brands of great prestige and quality, such as Hale Bob and Entreaguas.
At SwimShow we had the opportunity to establish commercial ties with countries from different latitudes: Colombia, the United States, Egypt, the Bahamas and Puerto Rico; This reaffirmed our global vocation and our philosophy of creating relaxed fashion for traveling spirits with unique tastes.
DC Swim Week: a world showcase for exclusive brands and young talents
During the same month of July, Velia Sierra Design debuted with its first show at the fifth edition of DC Swim Week, in Washington D.C. The shows were held on the 26th and 27th at the French Embassy, in which our Women's and Men's collections were presented on a catwalk with ten models.
This show takes place every year and is sponsored by FashionWeekOnline, Inglot USA and Balmain Paris, among other brands. It takes place over two days, in which the Resort Collection Show and the Genesis Collection Show are presented. Velia Sierra Design left a footprint on both.
Year after year, the event grows exponentially and serves as an important showcase for fashion houses seeking greater visibility in an international environment. We are ready to join this 2020.
